2014 in Review. And What's Happening in 2015!
Feb 03, 20152
2014 was our second full year in business. We've officially been open for 2.5 years! Some days it feels like a lifetime, and I can hardly remember the early months. Other days, it feels like just yesterday that we opened, and I'm in shock at how quickly we've grown!
2014 was such a fun year for us, with two new locations (our Carver store moved to a new building + the new store in Minneapolis), new furniture & handmade vendors on board, and a lot of furniture moving in and out of our doors! We thought it would be fun to share with you some numbers from this past year.
In total, Carver Junk Company re-homed nearly 11,000 {ELEVEN THOUSAND} items in 2014. That includes our vintage, antique, repainted, and handmade items. We are so proud of the impact we're having on the local communities, both because of the amount of furniture and decor we are able to recycle, and the number of local handmade artists we are able to support. We are proud that you choose to shop with us, to purchase and fill your homes with authentic items with character and history. THANK YOU for an amazing year in 2014!
Looking forward to 2015
We are actively expanding our handmade inventory. We have brought in handfuls of new artists and vendors in the last couple of months, and anticipate adding more as the year goes on, to ensure we continue to bring you unique, one-of-a-kind items!
We are planning more events, workshops, and fun activities than ever in 2015!
In 2014, we held over 20 paint workshops, and taught hundreds of DIYers the basics of Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint. In 2015, we anticipate hosting nearly 1,000 paint workshop participants!
We are planning more collaborations with other local businesses. We're currently discussing hosting monthly ladies' nights, beer and wine tastings , and we have some fabulous themed sales coming up (think wine & pub-themed sales, and a weekend full of wedding decor). We are working with local charities to increase our positive community impact, starting with a Puppy Kissing Booth in Minneapolis for Valentine's Day with donations benefiting Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue.
We aren't wishing away the year - we're so excited about what it will bring - but we also can't wait to share with you a 2015 year in review twelve months from now!
What do you hope to see from Carver Junk Company in 2015? Do you know local artists that would be a great fit in our stores? A local business that would be an amazing partner for us? A charity that could benefit from the work we do? Send us an email at info@carverjunkcompany.com!
