The Succulent Bar @ CJC MPLS

Mar 30, 20172
Carver Junk Company | DIY Succulent Planter Bar | Minneapolis, MN | Chaska, MN 6 days. 4000 succulents.  2203 containers. 288 gold animals. 2000 people. 700 square feet. That about sums up the Succulent Bar at our Minneapolis store last week. What it doesn't cover is how incredibly fun, creative, and exciting the event was! Our Minneapolis store is only 700 sq ft, which made for a major lack of personal space at times during the event, but we think some new friendships were forged as a result of hanging out so closely while creating new little [succulent] family additions. March 2017.[/caption] What really blew us away, though, was the response from every single customer that came through the door - everyone was beyond patient, excited to be planting succulents and looking forward to spring. We've loved seeing all the posts on Instagram [check out #succyeahcjc] and hope you haven't been over-watering those babies! [P.S. our Instagram contest winner was Alissa!] 17353133_10155004915996878_4337812916319712514_n   We're no strangers to hosting big shopping events. But this....this was a different beast. 10,000 RSVPs on Facebook had us running! We ordered shipments to come in every day of the event [because...a 700 sq ft store doesn't leave much space for storing 3000 extra pots + plants]. Our vendors picked every single vintage vessel to use as containers from everywhere in the metro area. No joke. There are no teacups left at any estate or vintage sales anywhere. They're all currently holding succulents in homes across Minnesota. 17426125_10155008924396878_8208160333832689617_n We hired all the kids of friends and friends of friends that we could find. We bought all the succulent soil from all the garden centers locally. We drove to Mankato to rescue a shipment of 600 pots that got mis-routed on Friday night at 11:00 pm [in case you were wondering why that huge stack of boxes was outside the store on Saturday, and why they weren't already on the shelves]. You all - it was NUTS! But you know that, because you were there. And you also know that it was SO MUCH FUN! And if you weren't there, don't worry - we took some photos, and you can consider this my pinky-swear that we're doing this again. June 2-4, at our Chaska location. Save the date. We're also offering private parties - email events@carverjunkcompany.com if you're interested in booking a succulent bar party.
