Featured Vendor: Cotton Seed Designs
Jul 07, 20162
If you stopped out at the Carver store for our Occasional Weekend Event in June, you probably noticed the great vignette behind the checkout counter. It was created by Gabe from Cotton Seed Designs, to showcase a bit of her style! The {shoppable} display included chippy old windows, copper and brass accents, pineapples, wood and metal textures, and a green, white, and dusty pink color scheme. <3
We've told you a bit about Gabe before, in our previous Vendor Spotlight series, but wanted to share a few recent projects she's brought into the stores. Her items can be found at both CJC locations. Some of these are still available - call or message us on Facebook for details.
Go ahead and Pin them, if you need some furniture inspiration!

Hello,
You do absolutely beautiful work! Could you tell me what color is on the desk 2nd from last? The one with the suitcase underneath and the yellow globe on top?
Thank you so much! It’s Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint color Artissimo!
I am going to paint an old antique kidney shaped dresser. Thought I would paint it an antique cream color with the top stained a wood color. Should I use chalk paint?
Hi! There are a lot of factors that go into determining which paint to use. A lot of those old kidney-shaped pieces are mahogany or cherry, which tends to bleed through light colors unless you prep them first with shellac. If you’re local, we offer paint workshops that would be great to attend. If not, there is a ton of great detail online!
I really want the blue desk with wooden top (globe and suitcase). May I have it? :-) I’m too frightened to try painting mine. Trade?
Haha! If it had stuck around beyond a day, we might have been talked into it ;) Good luck with yours!!
I am late to this party, but we just bought a house in Hale this weekend! Wondering if the following are still available (or if I should ask Gabe?).
- yellow chair
- green desk (the one with typewriter on it)
- small mint green cabinet (with wooden door + scale on top)
Love it all!
Thanks,
Alison
Hi Alison,
Thanks so much for reaching out, and congrats on the home purchase! Those items are all sold, but we have some great items available at both stores. Chaska is open today 10-4, and Minneapolis is hope until 7 pm!
